"I booked a survey with Listed Building Surveyors as I was advised at the enquiry stage that the Surveyor who worked in this area was a listed building specialist. The property had recently been renovated so I had no major concerns but was keen to get the roof checked as this had not been replaced. I was able to meet the surveyor at the property who was very knowledgeable regarding listed buildings.

The survey highlighted building work had possibly been carried out without listed building consent, which was obviously a worry. Due to this and other factors that were identified in the building survey we will not be going ahead with purchasing the property and have decided to go into rented accommodation for year but would like to thank your surveyor for their help.

Georgian Mid 17^th Century Mid Terraced House Grade II Listed

"We instructed Listed Building Surveyors to survey a Grade ll Listed former post office. We were extremely impressed with the Surveyor and the report that followed - all 94 pages! It was a very thorough and detailed report and the photos etc were a great help for us as we didn't have the expertise required when buying an old cottage. We did not proceed with the purchase of the old post office. In the end the survey saved us from making a huge financial mistake as we did not have the funds to carry out work to the cottage. We were obviously gutted, my husband particularly. It seemed the cottage had been run into the ground for the last 10 years while still being sold as a holiday let. We certainly would not have wanted to stay there on holiday in its present condition! We have learnt from that experience and are in the process of negotiating another possible purchase. We are continuing our search and hope to one day have our bolt hole in beautiful Cornwall.
